Uber introduces new Champagne and Boat Experience in France this summer

With the Paris Olympics fast approaching, Uber is ready to celebrate with two new experiences that will allow riders to toast their rides around France and take a free boat tour along the Seine River.

First, the ride-sharing company is preparing to transport travelers from Paris to Epernay, France's Champagne capital, this summer for exclusive tours of some of the best Champagne houses, Uber said. Travel + LeisureThe experience, called “Uber Bubbles,” will be available to book starting June 1 and will be available on Fridays and Saturdays from June 7 to August 17.

And the best part is that the entire trip costs just 200 euros ($216.96) for up to four people.

“More than 15 people [million] “With the large number of tourists expected in Paris this summer, we wanted to curate a seamless day trip from Paris to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy one of France's most iconic regions,” Laureline Celliers, general manager of Uber France, told T+L. “With Uber Bubbles, we're bringing the heart of France's Champagne region within your reach.”

Travelers who book the day trip will be picked up in an Uber Bubbles-branded Tesla and will have lunch at Perrier-Jouet Cellier Belle Epoque in Epernay, where they will dine on dishes such as curried crab beignets and Caesar salad with tarragon fried chicken and enjoy a tasting of three cuvées, then continue to Maison GH Mumm in Reims for a cellar tour and Cordon Rouge tasting before returning to Paris.

François-Xavier Morisot, vice president of champagne at GH Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, told T+L that the trip is “a fantastic opportunity for travelers to enjoy the best of our 'bubbly' experiences, including beautiful cuvées, fine gastronomy and extraordinary grounds.”

The experience must be booked at least 24 hours in advance and can be booked up to 90 days in advance. To book, champagne fans can select the “Uber Bubbles” icon on their home screen and choose an available date. Travelers then enter their pickup and drop-off locations.

Uber is also making it easier to explore Paris by offering free one-hour tours on an all-electric boat along the Seine. The tours, called Uber Cruises, will be the first Uber boat tours in Paris, the company told T+L.

Boat tours are expected to begin in mid-July.

The new experience will launch at a time when large numbers of tourists are expected to flock to Paris for the Summer Olympics, with the opening ceremony beginning on July 26th.

Ride-sharing companies will also designate specific pick-up and drop-off locations around the city and at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) to make traveling to and from the airport a little smoother during the tournament.
