Watch the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony from the rooftop of the Musée d'Orsay with Airbnb

Airbnb offers fans unique experiences during the Paris Olympics.

For one night only, 15 guests (plus one) can watch the opening ceremony from the gardens above the terrace of the Musée d'Orsay. The event is free and takes place on July 26th from 6pm to 1am.

This year's Olympic parade, which is expected to involve 10,500 athletes, will pass through central Paris, making the museum an ideal viewing spot: its terrace offers clear views of the parade and panoramic views of the city and the Seine.

The evening's host will be Mathieu Lehanneur, designer of the Olympic cauldron and torch for the Paris Olympics.

“As a French designer, it is an honour to be able to take part in such an important global event in Paris. Hosting this evening allows me to share my passion for art and the Olympic Games with fans from all over the world,” he said.

Your evening begins with a guided tour led by an art historian through the museum, which houses the world's largest collection of Impressionist art.

The tour will be followed by a tasting and light snacks workshop hosted by Margot Lecarpentier, named Paris' most influential bartender in the 2020 World's Best Bars list.

Light snacks inspired by French flavours will also be on offer, plus the evening will feature a DJ set by Kirou, founder of Paris-based art and music collective 99Ginger.

Bookings for the event will open at 5pm UAE time on June 13. The event is free but does not include travel and accommodation costs.
