Carette's hot chocolate has recently gained social media fame on TikTok, with a single video of the drink racking up over 22 million views. You may be wondering what's so good about it? Carette's hot chocolate is velvety smooth and made with melted chocolate mixed with a dash of water. It's also served with a generous dollop of whipped cream and poured into a silky sweet cup of your choice. A cup costs around 9 euros and the pot holds enough for two cups.

This Parisian café has been serving locals and tourists since 1927. Its Art Deco style and very “French” aesthetic has made it a popular destination for tourists, but locals love Carette too. The first store opened in Trocadero near the Eiffel Tower, before opening a branch in Place des Vosges, in the heart of the Marais district, in 2010. Carette also has a pastry shop in Montmartre.

Hot chocolate is the only thing that makes Carette worth visiting. Their macarons and pastries are famous and the café is open from morning until late into the night, serving delicious scrambled eggs in the morning, hearty homemade club sandwiches for lunch, and quiche lorraine until late into the night. So if you want to end the night with a hot chocolate, Carette is the place to go.
