Additional flights

It comes after Ryanair announced it would operate extra flights to the popular tourist destination this weekend, amid the start of a major strike at Aer Lingus.

Aer Lingus has cancelled hundreds of flights after pilots went on strike over pay.

Ryanair also announced it would increase flights to Dublin from London, Faro and Malaga to make it easier for tourists looking to enjoy their holidays.

The airline announced that the additional flights will operate on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30.

Ryanair's chief marketing officer, Dara Brady, said in a statement that the airline was not increasing fares in response to the strike.

No fare increase

“We decided last week not to increase airfares following the Aer Lingus pilots' strike,” he said.

“We are pleased to be able to use one of our spare aircraft to operate additional flights to London, Malaga and Faro next weekend.”

The new service will add two return flights to and from London and one return flight to and from Malaga and Faro.
